The Iserlohn Stadtsportverband held a meeting at the university campus in Seilersee on November 5, 2016. The topic of the working group for sports facilities planning was the future-oriented direction of sports in Iserlohn in general, and the concomitant development plans for sports facilities in Iserlohn in particular.
At the beginning of the closed conference, Prof. Thomas Rieger gave a talk on the topic of “modern sports cities and their offerings.” Sebastian Mühlenhof, an alumnus of the Sport & Event Management program, followed and presented the conclusions of his Bachelor’s thesis, which focused on the analysis of the current situation of sports facilities in Iserlohn.
“Sports in Iserlohn have a huge potential and a network of strong partners. These strengths must be further combined, in order to develop Iserlohn into one of the sportiest cities in Germany in the coming years”, says Prof. Thomas Rieger.
At the end of the conference, the members agreed on the next steps towards a comprehensive sports development plan with academic support from BiTS.
