Ten Chinese students started their studies at BiTS this week. The first cohort of the Business and Management Studies program in English was officially welcomed yesterday on Campus Iserlohn by President Prof. Stefan Stein. Press officer Jessica Barthel prepared a welcome speech in Chinese for the occasion.
For the students at the campus in Iserlohn, everyday school life will become more international. The student initiative IRIS is organizing numerous get-to-know-you events and excursions so that the new arrivals can successfully integrate and become friends with German students. In addition, there is a buddy program which ensures personal mentoring for the students. In order to cope with the everyday challenges the new arrivals will face, BiTS student Janina Schürmann will support them by answering all study and campus life questions.
The starting date for the semester falling on November 16 is unusual; however it was unavoidable in order to clarify all administrative matters related to the course. For this reason, some of the courses in the English-language program will finish in January or February. In the future, the semester is scheduled to begin in October for long-term overseas students.
The school is taking a vital step forward in its internationalization strategy with the start of the English-language program.
