A shared commitment by business and academe for fair trade lies at the center of the initiative by the Senate of Hamburg "Fair Trade City Hamburg." Eight Master’s students in Marketing Management are now making a start within the scope of the competition under the slogan “Hamburg! Trades! Fair!”
As part of the Trade Marketing course led by Prof. Cornelia Ackermann, they are working on ideas and strategies for REWE Stanislawski & Laas GmbH & Co. oHg. to create more awareness among customers for fair trade and sustainably produced goods in the market, to present them well, to raise interest in the issue of fair trade, and to generate more sales.
Campus Lead Prof. Andreas Moring and Prof. Thomas Pijanowski oversee and welcome participation in the contest: “BiTS is one of the few that have been selected for participation. Our students are very engaged and committed to this practical project.”
This university competition was established last year and presented publicly for the first time at BiTS.
