During the summer 2020 semester, we converted all of our teaching and services to online formats at all our locations to meet the regulations of the federal states. With only a few exceptions, we will be able to meet in person on campus again at the start of the winter semester.
The current regulations provide for the opening of all three of our locations. This means that all students will be able to come back to campus from the winter semester onwards - for teaching and our services.
Of course, we have developed a detailed protection concept to ensure that we take the best possible precautions against infection. All courses in the winter semester are offered in a mixture of classroom, hybrid and online formats. For face-to-face lectures, we will either have rotating groups on campus to comply with the distance rules, or we will teach in such a way that some students are on campus while others are involved live via MS teams ("hybrid teaching"). Some selected courses will be taught 100% online via MS Teams throughout the semester.
For all those who cannot come to the campus for health reasons and for all those who have not yet been able to enter Germany, teaching is completely live and digital. The UE thus enables further study without any loss of time. For this purpose, we have formulated a so-called UE Study Guarantee for our students.
In case we have to close one of our locations for a short period of time, we are well-prepared, because we can immediately switch over all teaching to digital, live and interactive formats.
Of course, we will continue to monitor the situation very closely and adjust our measures immediately if necessary.
Thank you for your understanding in this new and unique situation for us all.
