Recently PokemonGo acted as a catalyst for a wide-spread understanding of augmented and virtual reality. However, both technologies are still in early stages of a so far very rapid development and their true potential is still to be defined.
Concerning this matter 15 Bachelor and Master students from campuses in Madrid and Lisbon joint their co-students from BiTS locations in Iserlohn, Berlin and Hamburg on-site SAP’s headquarter in Walldorf. Three months before SAP invited them to address creative ideas on professional B2B use cases for these emerging technologies directly to their innovation specialists.
BiTS professor Daniel Kaltofen appreciates the highly practical framework for the students: "Europe’s largest software company set the very same requirements to our students as to professional advisors: That is to stay focused and to deliver practicable B2B concepts for AR/VR technologies including product design, customer groups and marketing strategies. That approach reflects SAP’s very positive evaluation of our students‘ skills and pushed them to even better results. The topic could not be more up-to-date. Together with first-hand professional feedback this win-win-situation is a true highlight of the seminar."
Due to intense research and collaborative preparation in virtual classrooms the students’ innovative presentations on workflow enhancements in future offices, security trainings and data mining kicked-off immediate and intense debates among SAP's product and design experts. In return students were invited to experience SAP’s existing AR/VR technology in their very own R&D 'Helix Laboratory.
In 2017 BiTS will again initiate a “Collaborative Project” in close co-operation with a high ranked practice partner for high potential students.
