The University of Applied Sciences Europe, the ZEIT CAMPUS and the Techniker Krankenkasse invited to the series of events "Zeit Campus im Gespräch: Die ersten 100 Tage im Job" at the Iserlohn campus. The students had the opportunity to receive first-hand information and tips from experienced experts and managers for a successful career start.
Important points were: Being open, asking questions and acting proactively. According to the experts, many lack the courage to demand feedback. It is important to know yourself and to be able to answer the question "How do you imagine your perfect working day to be? Applicants are expected to be interested in the corporate culture and to ask questions. Direct communication is the key term when working in a team.
In addition to the many tips for the students, the experts also gave advice for companies on how to make it easier for young professionals to start their careers.
Andreas Schubert, co-founder and Managing Partner of Great Place to Work, Claudia Köhler, Corporate Vice President of the VOK DAMS Agency for Events and Live-Marketing, and André Hinz, Head of the Market Region Ruhrgebiet of the Techniker Krankenkasse, answered questions in a panel discussion. The event was moderated by Amna Franzke, editor at ZEIT CAMPUS Online.
In two subsequent interactive workshops we went into depth. The orientation workshop, led by Margit Peters, focused on the topic: "How to find the job that suits me", while the application workshop with Katrin Baum discussed the topic "How to recognize my strengths and stay calm".
The many exercises and the opportunity to ask individual questions were very well received by the participants.
