With approximately 10,000 participants from over 170 nations, the Summer Universiade is the world's biggest multi-sport event after the Summer Olympics. Every two years, top athletes from various universities compete against each other in the disciplines of athletics, basketball, fencing, football, apparatus gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, diving, water polo, tennis, table tennis, judo, volleyball, taekwondo and archery. In addition to the competition, student communication across all nations and cultures will be the focus.
