The University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) offers two innovative media courses: Journalism & Business Communication (JBC) and Communication & Media Management (CMM).
Are you wondering which of the two suits you best?
Are you interested in economic interrelationships and mathematical calculations? Do you like organising and designing, as well as budgeting, managing and financing? Do you enjoy sales and marketing? Then, Communication & Media Management is the right course for you.
Or are you more a creative person who likes to plan and produce content for different channels and formats? Someone who finds communication exciting and likes to be involved in communication processes? Do you consider journalism to be an important cornerstone of our democracy and would you like to play an active role in shaping the media world? Then, Journalism & Business Communication is the right course for you.
Digitality and mobility are not the future, they are already here. In the media industry, content is the currency that is used across different media and needs to be mastered. This calls for media competence, management know-how and creative innovation awareness.
In our Communication & Media Management degree programme, we pick up on these permanent developments and make you fit for the digital world. You will acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills for relevant media: social media and online, print and storytelling, radio and TV as well as for hybrid industries.
Combine creative and commercial aspects with many practical and international experiences. The Communication & Media Management course provides you with professional training in media, public relations, corporate communications, marketing and management.
Filter information and check its accuracy, penetrate complex relationships and make them understandable for others, identify relevant topics and prepare qualitative content for various media channels and formats? These journalistic skills combined with economic understanding are increasingly in demand today: in industry and agencies, in politics and the media, on the Internet and on platforms.
The Journalism & Business Communication course prepares you for the media-influenced world in a practical way, because you will not only learn about communication in theory, but also get to know it in practice from your very first day with us. Depending on your level of experience, you will work independently and land positions such as editor or head of department and head of service (CvD). You will research, plan and produce content for online, social media, radio and TV.
When you graduate, you will have a comprehensive application portfolio with work samples consisting of online articles, multimedia projects, TV and radio contributions. You will also develop real PR projects with partners in well-known companies.
