Here you will find everything you need to know about studying, our graduates, our practical projects and excursions, as well as our lecturers and our media technology.
Are the classic media dying out? Nobody reads printed newspapers, listens to the radio or watches television anymore. The media landscape is constantly changing, but that doesn't mean that the traditional media are dying out. On the contrary, they are constantly evolving. That's why it's so important to recognise these changes and learn how to deal with them. Through a practical focus and the learning of many techniques and basics in business and media, the media courses of the University of Applied Sciences Europe (UE) Journalism & Business Communication as well as Communication & Media Management prepare you for these changes.
Small and medium-sized companies as well as global corporations are looking for young people with exactly these skills: fit in the production of content for corporate communications, marketing, social media and traditional media. Because of the ongoing change, the content of the courses is adapted to the movements and trends of the media landscape and constantly updated.
During your studies, you will gain insights into various media companies and media houses, such as Radio MK (Lokalradio für den Märkischen Kreis), IKZ (Iserlohner Kreisanzeiger und Zeitung) and WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk), with whom UE cooperates closely. Internships provide you with the opportunity to get to know various companies better and gain important experience.
Our campus is equipped with state-of-the-art technology: TV studio, radio studio, Mac pool and access to useful software programmes. During your studies you will learn how to use this equipment.
The semester abroad is an important component of the curriculum. You will have the opportunity to further your personal and professional development, whether in Australia, the USA, Great Britain or South East Asia. At our partner universities, you can choose from interesting and subject-related subjects, broaden your knowledge and develop some basic skills.
The UE offers a high degree of practical relevance and a personal exchange with the lecturers. Thanks to small course sizes and renowned lecturers from the field, individual further development is encouraged. The student departments also offer the opportunity to get involved in other areas, be it creative or marketing, as well as looking beyond their own horizons.
